You will not have a list even though you referred all of those people. You would end up having to start over.

Now if you decided to leave Company A you would have a way to contact those that you worked so hard to bring into the company. You can now present them with the information that is important and invite them to join you in the next opportunity. I get this question a lot and in this blog post my goal is to clear this issue. Many business owners are told having multiple streams of income or don’t put all of your eggs in one basket is the true way of making a strong income. Although that may be true some business owners may get their hands full and try to do to many things at one time and not succeed at anything.
Affiliate Marketing
What is Affiliate Marketing or what is an Affiliate? It’s a way for a business owner or anyone to make an income from a sale of something to another party. Some cases it’s a one time commission and in some cases in a monthly commission. It all depends which affiliate you decide to promote how you get paid. Affiliate marketing in my opinion is designed to pay you up front money so that you can redirect that money back into your business. This money can be used to fund your products, advertising, promotions etc… The point is, this shouldn’t be your primary income but something to keep your head above water while you are building your primary business.
Can Affiliate Marketing Be A Primary Source Of Income?
Although my opinion should not be your primary source of income, I’ve personally met great leaders out there that promote affiliates and make a substantial income from it. One of my good friends in Network Marketing came out with a course on Affiliate marketing because he is just a Master at it. The only issue is that while some are good at it, I’ve only seen most struggle at it. Why? Most business owners ( including myself ) want to sell affiliate products and earn money quickly to do more than keep their head above water and this can take away from their primary income opportunity. Once you think this can be a primary source of income and you don’t educate yourself on how to market it properly it can get frustrating.
Should Business Owners Bother With Affiliate Marketing?
I absolutely feel business owners should market Affiliate products but there is a right way of doing it. The first thing I recommend business owners to do is to use what they purchased before they market it. This is like selling a beverage and your customer asks you what does it tastes like and you don’t know. That’s embarrassing and you shouldn’t recommend anything to anyone unless you have at least tried it yourself. You sell affiliate products to other business owners because they value what you are selling to them. Your goal is to provide a solution to their problem and they are counting on you to give them the best education to move forward.
The best way to market affiliate products to is your team. You find something out there that helped with either
personal development, traffic generation, leads etc and you pass that information down to your team. This should be a no brainer for your team to purchase because they know you and trust you. The second way is to market to people outside of your primary business but this can HURT most people. The reason most business owners want to make a HUGE income on affiliate marketing and spend WAY TO MUCH TIME helping other people that are not on their team. I’m not saying not to help others, as I do all the time, but when you spend way to much time you can LOSE MONEY.
If you are going to market affiliate products to others for you primary source of income try to find affiliates that offer monthly commissions. Most out there offer inexpensive training that is sold once in exchange for names, emails and phone numbers. Although that is a HUGE ASSET, you have to constantly hustle at the end of each and every month to pay your mortgage or car payment. If you market affiliates that customers have to pay monthly for a service you don’t have to KILL yourself to keep getting new customers. You can then focus on selling more products and services to the same list and expand your commissions. Remember Affiliate marketing was designed for you to get paid a commission even if your prospect say NO to your primary opportunity and designed so that you can get up front money to fund your primary. Don’t sell products and service to help someones problems just to make a sale because they will sense that and you will never make a dime.

In this blog post I’m going to talk about the difference between Network Marketing and Direct Sales. Many of you that are reading this may be asking “aren’t the two the same?”. Actually there is a BIG difference and by the time you finish reading this blog post you will understand the difference between the two and what your passionate about pursuing if you are looking for a company.
Direct Sales Marketing
Direct sales marketing is geared more towards customer product sales. You have a product and/or service and 
as a representative you receive a commission every time you sell a product or service to your customer. In most cases the commissions are very good due to the difference between what a representative pays and retail or just a percentage given when a product or service is sold. This can be very profitable to the representative because as I said earlier most companies pay out more money when you do this.
Now I’m going to mention any company names in this blog post, but I’m giving you what is typically done when you join a Direct Sales company. Most companies also pay out commissions when you recruit other representatives to your team. This can give you residual income as well as volume that you need to hit ranks in that particular company to get to your goals. Some companies have great products that offer the customer benefits of Auto-Ship, the benefits of never having to order product every single month. Rather have it automatically ship to them and this is great for the representative to get monthly commissions.
Some people think they have to be superstar salespeople to be involved in a Direct Sales company, but that in most cases is not true. There are some amazing companies out there that offer great tools so that you don’t have to do the explaining or selling of your product or service. And there are some companies ( not to many that I know of ) that offer the customer FREE product if they refer other customers to the same product or service that they are in. This is a great benefit for the customer that doesn’t want to get involved in the opportunity of your company.
If you are an ambitious person this may be the right industry for you. If you have fun with sharing your product or service with different customers each and every month then this may be for you. On the other hand if you are looking for residual income from doing something once rather than finding new people each and every month to complete your volume at the end of the month this may not be for you. In the next section I’m going to talk about Network Marketing.
Network Marketing
Network Marketing, some know this industry as MLM or Multi Level Marketing, could be a great industry if you are looking for residual 
income. Residual income is income that comes in every single month whether you decide to keep working or stop working. Most companies require you to recruit other representatives like you in order to receive residual and upfront income. Now I must tell you that I haven’t seen a company that pays out residual income to a representative without a sale of a product. Without a sale there is no commission to be paid out because there isn’t a product or service sold. Residual income without a product sold is called a “PYRAMID SCHEME”. That is a word that Network Marketers have to face then have to clear up to the UNEDUCATED.
If you are looking for residual income and have no issues looking for individuals to come into your business as partners this industry may be for you. Some companies focus on this strategy to pay out upfront and residual income to their representatives. Now most people that get involved in this industry want to make residual and upfront in great volume of income because it’s possible. A Lot of income can be made in this industry but the downside is that most average people ( which this industry was built for ) don’t recruit as many people as they want to.
In order to make a substantial income you must recruit new representatives and have them on Auto-Ship in order to collect monthly commissions. If you focus solely on recruiting and you do poorly, you will get frustrated and not get the income you are looking for. Even though most companies have great tools that do the explaining for you just like Direct Sales companies, you need to speak to a lot of people to get your goal achieved.
Now I know what you are thinking, ” What Do You Recommend? “. That’s a very good question. I’m involved in a company that combines the both industries and this allows anyone, whether you like Direct Sales and/or Network Marketing to benefit on both sides. Below will be more information about the company that I’m involved in, but you need to find an industry you can be Passionate about.
It starts with the products then the simplicity of getting it out to the masses. Most importantly a business that promotes something that you can use yourself ( You Are The Product ) and get EXCITED!!! If you can’t get excited with Direct Sales or Network Marketing or Both then this isn’t the industry for you. If you follow this you should find a company that is a fit for you, but You Must Have A WHY! Without this you will be looking without a Purpose.
